Cadetude#2 released: 2011 type: Album/CD label: mü-nest + PLOP genre: electronic, ambient, nearly instrumental, neo-classical origin: Japan languages: english, ? ~=dl=~ about kyo ichinose: " Kyo Ichinose, born in 1972, started his career as a composer of contemporary music in the Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music. As a Master of Arts and an autodidact in electronic music, he is stepping across many borders. He wrote the score for a commercial film that received the "Cannes International Commercial Film Festival Bronze Prize" in 2002, and his sound designs for installations were shown in several exhibitions in Japan. His 2nd solo album "Lontano" was selected by WIRE magazine as one of the best albums in 2005 . Ichinose's music evokes the sound "of the present" and is at the same time in search of "the universal and fundamental" beyond personal emotions. His compositions embrace actual score, field recordings, synthesizers, and computer generated sounds. In his live performances, Ichinose merges acoustic instruments and laptop computer music into a kind of "extended" ensemble. "Earthrise 2064" is his long-awaited 4th solo album." - via mü-nest his website: http://www.kyo-ichinose.net/ his inspirations for the album: “Songs of Innocence” by William Blake, “The Days of Creation” by Edward Burne-Jones and novels by Mariko Ohara his comment on the album: " Beyond the enormous time-length that we live in, we become aware of our moments and think about the vast space and the floating earth within. Our will to depart from this planet and the longings for the sky, on the contrary to these conations, leaves us more conscious about the gravity leaning onto our bodies. Drawing the near future, far future, near past and the far past. From macro to micro, viewing the chains that strike from the galaxy to each and every cell. Just listen. “And we are put on earth a little space.. That we may learn to bear the beams of love.” (William Blake) " - 一ノ瀬響 earthrise 2064 special page (click for previewing tracks etc..)
