"Final Fantasy X-2 Piano Collection is a collection of music from the game's soundtrack composed by Noriko Matsueda and Takahito Eguchi and arranged for the piano. The tracks were arranged by Noriko Matsueda, Takahito Eguchi, Hiroko Kokubu, Masahiro Sayama, and Febian Reza Pane. Matsueda and Eguchi's tracks were performed by Shinko Ogata, while the other arrangers performed their own works. The album spans 12 tracks and covers a duration of 47:38. It was released on March 31, 2004 by Avex with catalog number AVCD-17444.
The album was very well received, with Patrick Gann claiming that it "shines as a light in the darkness" compared to the original soundtrack and that he was "extremely pleased" with the album. Chris from Square Enix Music Online agreed, calling the album "nothing short of fantastic" and saying that the pianists did "a flawless job executing each arrangement". Jillian of Square Enix Music Online agreed, finding it to be the best Final Fantasy piano arrangement album to date." - via wikipedia

genre: downtempo, neo-classical, female vocalists, japanese indie, alternative
origin: japan
languages: japanese, english

"In keeping with Spangle call’s standard rock instrumentation, their style reaches well beyond downtempo, a relaxed and heavily electronic genre. While the band is often described as post-rock, their sound is more of a compromise between the two. Songs are not bound by verse-chorus convention, but drift lazily, guided by a light melody. The guitars and varied percussion together with numerous (and frequently spacey) electronic additions weave a sound that, while complex, flows very evenly. Otsubo Kana’s wispy vocals contribute an organic piece to the melody as well, while adding to the relaxed atmosphere." - via last.fm

-their website-

they have always been a favourite of mine. for a really long time now. not their best release but still good. this is a new album with rearranged old songs of them, focused mainly on the piano.

for those who don't know:
" Princess Mononoke (もののけ姫 Mononoke-hime?) is a 1997 epic Japanese animated historical fantasy feature film written and directed by Hayao Miyazaki of Studio Ghibli. "Mononoke" (物の怪?) is not a name, but a general term in the Japanese language for a spirit or monster. The film was first released in Japan on July 12, 1997, and in the United States on October 29, 1999. " - via wikipedia

I'm thinking about buying all his work, it's just amazing~ as are the movies!

about kyo ichinose:
" Kyo Ichinose, born in 1972, started his career as a composer of contemporary music in the Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music. As a Master of Arts and an autodidact in electronic music, he is stepping across many borders. He wrote the score for a commercial film that received the "Cannes International Commercial Film Festival Bronze Prize" in 2002, and his sound designs for installations were shown in several exhibitions in Japan. His 2nd solo album "Lontano" was selected by WIRE magazine as one of the best albums in 2005 . Ichinose's music evokes the sound "of the present" and is at the same time in search of "the universal and fundamental" beyond personal emotions. His compositions embrace actual score, field recordings, synthesizers, and computer generated sounds. In his live performances, Ichinose merges acoustic instruments and laptop computer music into a kind of "extended" ensemble. "Earthrise 2064" is his long-awaited 4th solo album." - via mü-nest

his website: http://www.kyo-ichinose.net/
his inspirations for the album: “Songs of Innocence” by William Blake, “The Days of Creation” by Edward Burne-Jones and novels by Mariko Ohara

his comment on the album:
" Beyond the enormous time-length that we live in,
we become aware of our moments and think about the vast space and the floating earth within.
Our will to depart from this planet and the longings for the sky,
on the contrary to these conations,
leaves us more conscious about the gravity leaning onto our bodies.
Drawing the near future, far future, near past and the far past.
From macro to micro, viewing the chains that strike from the galaxy to each and every cell.
Just listen.

“And we are put on earth a little space..
That we may learn to bear the beams of love.”
(William Blake) "

" Receiving high appreciations after his 1st album "Windvane and Window" which was released from Malaysian label mü-nest, flica finally makes a debut to Schole Records. As its 7th album release, Schole records proudly flica's (aka Euseng Seto) second full-length album. While this album is made mainly with paino, minutely structured beats and rhythm smoothly fit into the tracks which were made with having more conceptuality than the 1st album, being woven with the lyrical tunes, the album "nocturnal" showcases flica own reading of nocturne.
