"Grimes is the inventive work of
Vancouver born Claire Boucher, a project of hers that has gained
notoriety since its inception back in early-2010.
A prolific force, Visions will be Grimes' fourth release in less than two years and she has also performed countless shows in this time.
With each album tackling a different set of influences and styles, her latest set incorporates influences as wide as Enya, TLC and Aphex Twin, whilst also drawing from genres like New Jack Swing, IDM, New Age, K-pop, Industrial and glitch. This approach has marked out Grimes as a curator of culture, and allowed the project to remain flexible and to evolve." - via 4ad ((DL)) Labels: creative, floating or dreamy, interesting 0 comments / +show うたびこ(utabiko) / 青葉市子(aoba ichiko) posted on April 29, 2012 at 8:04 PM 01. "Opening with a interesting and spare song--a take on a Poe poem--"Annabel Lee", 어른아이 immediately sets the tone for a series of reflective songs. Fortunately, the songs get a variety of sounds with differing instrumentation, tempos, and the coming and going of electronics, but it's held together by 황보라's breathy vocals and consistent acoustic guitar work. Outside of the drawing power of "Annabel Lee", the album doesn't really have any solid singles, but I find pretty much each track interesting, with the light electronic flourishes on "민들레" sticking in my head as an interesting echo to 황보라's vocals. " / init_music "featuring downbeat introspective vocals and acoustic guitar with electronic tweaks and generally spare instrumentation, it still fits in as a relative of Bluedawn's sound, even if its less experimental. " / init_music totally my point of view. before I read this review I thought of my sudden realization of the similarity between 푸른새벽 (bluedawn) & 어른아이 (adultchild). they have this special something... glad that this band still exists. I really enjoy slowcore music. it really makes me feel being 100% me - content. interesting that music can do something like this to me. ❀ last.fm / ❀ website Labels: beautiful, dramatic, floating or dreamy, harmonic, long time favourites, pleasant, soft vocals, special something 0 comments / +show submarine sickness + waveless / 푸른새벽 (bluedawn) posted on April 13, 2011 at 4:29 PM ❀ last.fm CD 1 / submarine sickness 01. 호접지몽 02. 친절한 나의 길 03. calm do not plan 04. 낯선 시간 속으로 05. 우두커니 나의 우주는 06. last arpeggios CD 2 / waveless 01. 서 02. 별의 목소리 #1 03. 별의 목소리 #2 04. 피아노 05. 빵 Labels: beautiful, calm, floating or dreamy, long time favourites, soft vocals, special something 0 comments / +show 푸른새벽 (bluedawn) / 푸른새벽 (bluedawn) posted on March 26, 2011 at 5:20 PM last.fm 01. 집착 02.
